I keep on experimenting on different recipes ..you know adding, deleting ingredients or trying a new version all together..depending upon the ingredients I have and the kind of food we want to eat that particular day.
Last Friday I made Chole ..very simple no tantrum recipe. I made tikki along with it but this recipe will go well with Kulchas and bhaturas too. very flavorful yet light..good for a winter weekend at home.Will Post the Tikki recipe in next post..
Ingredients-
- Chole(chikpea) — 1 and half cup
- Tomato- 1 Big cut in small peices
- Coriander powder- 2 teaspoon
- Green chilli- 1 slit lengthwise
- Turmeric Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
- Chat masaala Powder- 2 teaspoon
- Sugar- 2 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt- to taste
- Lemon- 1/2
Method-
- Soak chole Overnight or 6-7 hours covered with water.
- Boil chole and keep aside. ( seperate water from chole)
- In a pan Heat oil and add green chilli and tomato and saute for a minute.
- Add turmeric and coriander powder saute and add Boiled Chole.
- Mix well and add garam masala, sugar and chaat masala powder
- Add the strained water as required.
- Adjust salt and squeeze lemon.
- Serve Hot with Kulcha, tikki, Parantha, Bhatura or Puri!
