Salsa is a great option when you are looking for a healthy, low calorie food to satisfy your cravings. I eat it every once in a while with baked chips, baked potato, in a taco with grilled chicken or simply in a wrap with lettuce and avocado. Its uses are endless and benefits are many.
Given the fact that I use it so often, I started making my own at home which is not only easy but healthier too. It gives you the ability to put your choice of fresh ingredients and adjust the chunkiness, mildness or hotness to suit your taste.
Believe me, this is so good… I have stopped buying salsa from grocery store!
Go ahead and enjoy the freshness without worrying about the preservatives 🙂
Ingredients-
Tomato – 4 chopped
Onion – 1/2 chopped
Fresh cilantro – 1 cup chopped
Fresh lime juice – 2 tablespoons (adjust to your own taste)
Jalapeno pepper- 1 teaspoon (or more/less)
Fresh Oregano leaves – 1/2 teaspoon minced
Salt to taste.
Method-
Put all the ingredients in food processor and run until well chopped.
(If you want a chunkier salsa, just mix all the ingredients well.)
Taste and and let it sit for 20 minutes before serving.

Oh la la! Somebody is back with a bang! I've never made Salsa at home.. now you sure are 'inspring' me 😀
Thanks for dropping by Deepti :). Do try it and lemme know how you liked it.
I bet this would taste perfect with some homemade, baked, corn torilla chips. They would stand up perfectly to this hearty and delicious looking salsa.
Thank you for linking up with #FoodieFridays!
