Delicious and spicy mutton curry cooked in pressure cooker . I have used goat but can be easily made with Lamb.
Ingredients
- Mutton – approx 1.5 lbs
- Onions- 4 medium (thinly sliced)
- Big cardamom- 1
- Bay leaf- – 1 big
- Garlic – 4- 5 cloves, peeled
- Ginger – 1 inch piece
- Whole Red Chilies – 8 – 10 (deseeded and soaked in warm water for atleast half hour)
- Ginger powder- 1/2 tsp
- Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
- Yogurt- 1 tbsp
- Tomatoes – 2, peeled and chopped
- Salt – to taste
- Coriander leaves- to garnish
Instructions-
- Make a paste of red chillies with garlic and ginger and keep aside
- Heat oil and add bay leaf, cardamom and cloves and cook for 1/2 a minute
- Add onions and saute till light brown
- Add mutton pieces and the chili paste and salt. Mix well
- Cook for about 5 minutes, keep stirring
- Add rest of the powdered masalas and yogurt, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add Peeled and chopped tomatoes and mix everything well, cover and let cook for 10 minutes. keep checking and stirring in between.
- Add some water( desired amount) and pressure cook untill done. I cooked it upto 4 whistles
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve
