Tomato Chutney

A quick and tasty tomato chutney which can be a great accompaniment to any dish. It can be served hot or cold and goes well with paratha, poori, idli or dosa.
 

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes   –  2 small
  • Sugar – 2 tsp (or to taste)
  • Crushed black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds(jeera) – 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee(or oil) – 1 to 2 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tsp
  • Salt  – To taste

Instructions-

  • Put tomatoes in boiling water for 1 minute, remove and put in icy water.  Peel off the skin of tomatoes and chop
  • Heat ghee in a pan
  • Add cumin seeds, black pepper, cook for 30 seconds
  • Add tomatoes, mix well
  • Add 1 tbsp of water, cover and cook till properly cooked
  • Add ginger,  salt and sugar
  • Mix well
  • Add chopped fresh coriander leaves(i didn’t have it so didn’t add)
  • Mix well and serve
