A quick and tasty tomato chutney which can be a great accompaniment to any dish. It can be served hot or cold and goes well with paratha, poori, idli or dosa.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes – 2 small
- Sugar – 2 tsp (or to taste)
- Crushed black pepper – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds(jeera) – 1/2 tsp
- Ghee(or oil) – 1 to 2 tsp
- Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tsp
- Salt – To taste
Instructions-
- Put tomatoes in boiling water for 1 minute, remove and put in icy water. Peel off the skin of tomatoes and chop
- Heat ghee in a pan
- Add cumin seeds, black pepper, cook for 30 seconds
- Add tomatoes, mix well
- Add 1 tbsp of water, cover and cook till properly cooked
- Add ginger, salt and sugar
- Mix well
- Add chopped fresh coriander leaves(i didn’t have it so didn’t add)
- Mix well and serve
